Advantages Of Using A Drone
Versatility Due to their size, unlike manned aircraft, drones are able to fly into areas that were once not possible. They can fly from only a few centimetres of the ground to 400 feet in the air as one long continuous shot, whilst panning and framing a chosen subject. Drones can fly from inside a room and out through a window or door, giving the aerial film makers a very unique shot. Furthermore, they can rotate on the same spot, move left, right up or down, all at the touch of the pilot’s command, whilst giving the camera operator total autonomy to position the camera to frame the perfect shot.
In the past, to achieve aerial footage, helicopters were predominantly used due to their versatility over a fixed winged plane. However, you still needed a lot of time to prepare onsite and numerous staff to manage the process and ensure a safe operation. A drone team is much smaller and normally only consists of the pilot and the camera operator as a minimum. This means that once arriving on site, we can be up and flying in around 5 minutes, assuming all site surveys and risk assessments have been completed. Also, should the lighting or weather during the day go against us we can simply land our drone and wait for the next window of opportunity. Even with a window of only a few minutes, we can launch our drone and get the required shot, something manned aircraft can never do. We film many weddings from a different perspective using 360 videos and UAV’s which result in a truly amazing capture of the day.
Full HD Quality
As technology has improved, drones are still able to shoot in full HD and create amazing aerial videos, 4k and higher without sacrificing any quality. In fact, there are more and more gimbals (professional 3-axis stabilisation systems) coming onto the market to accommodate the wide variety of cameras. This allows aerial filming companies to swap out the type of camera they wish to use, depending on the type of footage one is looking to capture. HD Drone Camera
Many people currently see drones being used in TV and film production, news bulletins and even music videos. This is only one type of application, with other industries such as farming, construction, mining, sports training to name a few. Farmers are using them to survey their crops, aiding them to generate NDVI maps that give the farmers invaluable information about their crops nutrition, plant germination and growth.
Construction sites are utilising them to present their work from a different perspective to prospective clients, as well as generating 3D maps. The drones are also able to generate maps from a series of photos that can then be run through software that will allow the user to measure distances or volumes without having to physically be on site.
And all of the above and more for a fraction of the cost of using a helicopter and crew. Our prices start from £795 for aerial filming and £695 for aerial photography. We also offer ground filming and editing services and would be happy to hear from you to help you plan your next aerial project.
360 Degree Panoramic Views
We are taking 360-degree interactive panoramic virtual tours to the next level with the introduction of drones. It is now possible to create aerial 360° panoramic tours from a unique perspective… The Sky! Offering the viewer a full 360° horizontal view as well as a vertically 180° view up and down.
We always remove the drone itself from the panoramic tour, providing the viewer with a totally uninterrupted view in every direction. This approach leads to a more polished and professional look for your brand. Furthermore, when combining the aerial panorama(s) with our ground 360° panorama(s), you literally have every space and angle covered.
Take the tour one step further and add interactive tags that are embedded into the tour to give the viewer an incredibly immersive and informative experience. The tags can open an external website, play a video or simply open a pop-up window with further details about your brand and company.
We are also one of a few number of companies that can combine both still and video seamlessly into the same 360° virtual tour, bringing the tour to life. The video could be a feature in a house, such as a roaring log fire, which we embedded in the rookery barn’s sitting room panorama. Another example, for a car dealership, could be someone opening a car in the showroom and getting in and starting up the car, to someone welcoming the viewer to a hotel and presenting its amenities and rooms to potential guests
